Tasting Notes

Blending 2 pinot noir clones together helps to create a complexity and depth of varietal character to elevate this wine into a more full-bodied style. Classic Russian River Valley appellation style permeates throughout the aromas and flavors and builds a foundation for this bold-structured, Burgundian-styled Pinot Noir.

Winemaker Notes

The 2017 vintage was highlighted by a very hot growing season. So hot that many vineyards throughout Sonoma County found their vines 'shutting down' to protect themselves from a long string of 100+ degree days - some reaching over 2 weeks long with a sprinkling of 112-115 degree days. This allowed the growing season to extend and offered more 'hang-time' for the clusters to ripen evenly. ALL of our grapes were picked before the October 8th fires that devastated Sonoma County.
