2016 Three Some
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes
These three vineyard designated wines seduce each other in an orgy of aromas and flavors. Light some candles, turn on some blues and taste as these three entangle themselves in layers of deep red berry, plum, spicy cocoa and velvety textures. Ripe blackberry, toasty oak and dripping blueberry compote evoke playful passion. Pair with a friend or two, with or without food. Clothing optional.
Production Notes
Each component is separately produced, aged and artistically blended.
Winemaker Notes
With Cabernet Sauvignon as the backbone for this blend, Merlot to soften the middle palette and extend the finish and Cabernet Franc to boost the spice profile, this could possibly be the most complex three some yet. Just enough new French oak barrel aging to add an elegant cocoa fringe and balanced use of American oak for tannins, this is fruit and oak integration superbly accomplished.
Cooperage Notes
40 months in barrel. 22% New French oak, 11% new American Oak
