2015 Zinfandel - Ramazzotti Vineyard

Back of Bottle Description: Grower extraordinaire Joe Ramazzotti delivers ulta-ripe grapes which are perfect for our 'patented' maximum extraction winemaking techniques. Dark cherry, blackberry, nutmeg and toast aromas and flavors develop intense complexity. Brilliant acidity melds these complex flavors with tantalizing tannins through the full, rich finish. Pair with smoked food, a Fall BBQ or your partner's belly button.

Winemaker Notes

Zinfandel grown in Dry Creek Valley always has a unique story. This vineyard is absolutely perfectly situated within Dry Creek's most Northeastern area of volcanic hillside land. Among this 20+ acre vineyard are separate blocks planted during different decades. The smallest, a 1 acre lot was planted in around 1910. The bulk of the entire vineyard is over 45 years old, with some blocks being 65-80 years old. The 2015 grapes thumbprint sources were a blend of ALL blocks - yep, including 110 year old vines - and have about 2-3% carignane and petite sirah inter-planted, making this wine a field blend.
